CHRISTMAS
Christmas was a flurry of coming and going for me. I went down to Rob’s Sunday, Christmas eve in the early afternoon. Spent a few hours at his place then we went with his parents into Windsor Canada for a gathering of his family clan. His aunt and uncle were pleasant, friendly very nice hosts. They have a very lovely home, it’s been/being completely remodeled most of the work done by his uncle who works in construction.
That evening after we 4 got back in Michigan, I gave my gifts to Robs parents and then we went over to Rob’s Sisters home and exchanged gifts with them & the 2 nieces.Rob got a nice leather coat from his parents, leather care products from his nieces.
We got a combined present of gift cards to Out Back Steak house from his Sis and bro in law. I got bath & body lotion and body wash from the nieces, and gift cards From Rob’s parents to Panera (coffee shop/bakery/deli) and Wal-Mart. I was really surprised I hadn’t expected much.
The next morning, Christmas day I drove Rob and I out to my parents. We had a nice breakfast waiting for us when we arrived; sausage, bacon, homemade pecan rolls, cinnamon bread. Most of our family was already there and were eager to begin the unwrapping of gifts. We tried to hurry our youngest sister, Alica and her husband, Justin to get there before 2pm, which was the time mom told then to be here. After a couple calls, they finally called back around 12:30pm saying they were just getting out of bed, And they ended up being late too.
The Living room was so taken over with presents there was barley room for us all to sit. The living room opens up into the kitchen so actually about 4 of us were sitting at the edge of the kitchen. Getting presents tossed to us.
In a flurry of paper, ribbons Oohs, Ahhhs and Thank You’s we eagerly opened gifts. I received quite a few nice things and was very pleased. Rob was surprised by home much my family gave to him and had a really good time.
Tuesday was spent mostly relaxing but I did so a little after x-mas shopping with Mom, Amber and Aaron. We mostly went for a few grocery items but I picked up couple 50% off things for people I might visit after the holidays.
Wednesday Mom, Rob and I went to Tanager Outletmall. Rob and I looked at rings, also we went to the Gourmet shop (Mom and I LOVE that place)and few other stores. After we retuned to my parents home I packed up all Rob’s presents and stuff. Then we dove out to Dearborn Heights to Melissa’s house, we did gift exchange with her. She gave me a bunch of Hello Kitty stuff including a soft and pretty lap blanket. She gave Rob a couple cool shirts one with a chinese dragon one with a griffon. The 3 of us had dinner and then we went to Kinko. Rob copied my mighty folder of medical files onto a usb memory stick and made 2 hard copies;one for my attorney and theother for the Social security disability people. We hung out there a while and gossiped a bit, then dropped Melissa off back at her home,we got back to Rob’s home after midnight, where he kept me up to 2am? Watching TIVO-ed shows. We had to be up at 6:30am so he could go to work and me to a doctors appointment but With my sleep apnea and Rob thrashing, about I don’t sleep much anyway. Around 4am Rob rolled over or something and banged his head hard on the wall. He yelled ouch, whined, rubbed his head and acted awake, I pulled him away from the wall held him, kissed his head, he went back to sleep. In the morning he said he doesn’t remember it happening. LOL He needs to go for a sleep study.
