Misery and Mirth

Oh The Strife

Oh the strife of being a woman, Tuesday I had to get a “coochy” check again or the more technical term, Pap smear. If you’ve not been following my blog or just can’t keep up with all my medical mania I’ve been having Pap tests about every 6 months for close to 3 years because the tests keep coming up abnormal or ASCUS, Atypical Cells of Undetermined Significance which is considered to be mildly abnormal.

After the first 2-3 ASCUS results I was tested and found to be positive for HPV, Human PapillomaVirusHPV is a very common infection but I am the unlucky one to have 1 of the 4 out of 100’s of strains that is known to promote cervical cancer.
HPV can go into remission and never resurface but I don’t have the healthiest immune system so I will not be shocked if the results are ASCUS again, I just am praying that I don’t downgrade to pre-cancer cells.

Today Wednesday My father and I spent the whole afternoon at the Social Security Administration filing a claim for disability assistance. Having to wait over an hour, while a scarey looking man discussed his end stage Cirrhosis with us, finally getting into my appointment to be bombarded with Lots and Lots and Lots of questions and paperwork. But hopefully it was worth it and in 4 months I find out the results, If I am denied I already have the lawyer lined up to file my appeal.

Last week or so my gall bladder has been really acting up, regurgitating a lot and having side pain. I can’t tell if the fever I feel now is from the lingering double ear/sinus/tonsil infection or a gall bladder infection My insurance is still %$#@&^% around and I haven’t got my antibiotics or any of the new prescriptions Dr. Nemeth gave me Monday AND they are now denying coverage of the acid reflux medicine that they finally agreed to cover just over a month ago. WTF!!!

Also because my insulin is so astronomically high and out of control I haven’t had a menstruation in 22 weeks, but I’m still going through the hormonal fluctuations. So for the last few days I’ve been having moods swings and worsening depression, Oh Joy.  rolleyes

smile In other news: Phattie my geriatric cat seems to be doing better this week, while I was away at Rob’s last week my sis bought Phattie a new low side litter box, so Phattie has had less accidents. Her belly bloat is down and her hips seem to not be bothering her as much, she is moving around and able to jump up without problem. I don’t think I have been giving her anything different except more attention and massage.
