Sad GoodBye, Another DR. Visit & a Reconnect
This Monday morning Amber and Aaron boarded there plane and by now are back in North Carolina. It was really nice having them here for the past 3 weeks, its too quiet now. I miss them already.
Also this morning I saw my Internist, Dr. Nemeth. She says I have a double ear infection, sinus infection and throat/tonsil infection. She prescribed me a round of antibiotics and a steroidal nasal spray for the sinus symptoms, because she doesn’t want me taking anymore cold medicine. My blood pressure was something like 170/98, way too high, cold medicines especially ones with decongestants raise blood pressure.
Also we discussed my continued problems with acid reflux and my gall bladder. I’ve had persistent yellow/green stools for almost a year? And continue to have abdominal discomfort in the gall bladder region.
‘In the absence of bile, fats become indigestible and are instead excreted in feces. In this case, the feces lacks its characteristic brown colour and instead are light colored and greasy. This causes significant problems in the distal parts of the intestine as normally virtually all fats are absorbed in the duodenum and the intestines and bacterial flora are not adapted to processing fats past this point.’
So Dr.Nemeth has referred me to a Gastrointestinal specialist and prescribed Zelnorm for the time being to help my digestive system move along in a more proper efficent manner. I was able to get a hold of the GI office today and schedule an appointment. I will be seeing a Dr. Walsh on February 2nd.
I went to the Pharmacy to pick up my refill on Prilosec and get the other 3 medicines Dr. Nemeth prescribed today and was very displeased.
My insurance is doing something new for the New Year. I have to get prior authorization for all my medicines again. Even though just a month ago I went through this to get the prilosec. I really wanted to begin my antibiotics so I could get rid of this pain in my ears and throat, but between calling back and forth from the pharmacy and doctor I was finally told it was going to take a few days. Insurance people are being @$$#@^%$!!!
Today I called My old friend Amy to see how she was doing. I’ve tried to keep in contact with her through email and yahoo messenger. But she is not very good at responding back. Taking care of a household and 2 children probably leaves her little time to use a computer. She is doing well, She had a tough year continuing to recover from injuries due to a serious car accident about a year ago. She just had some of the nerves in her back burned to stop the pain, because all other treatments weren’t working. She says she feels great now, but has to be careful not to engage in activities that could cause her further damage.
I haven’t gone to visit her in some time because I was not getting any response from my emails to her and belived her to be angry with me for missing her wedding vow renewal ceremony. I would have been there but that was the same weekend that Rob and I had purchased our Tickets for the Toronto trip. But anyway she seems over it now and has invited me to come visit and watch one of her young sons Hockey games on the 20th.
