Misery and Mirth

September

I’ve been lax on posting again, I’ve been having down spiral last 2 months had increase in pain, new areas of pain like heal and arch of my feet and intense muscle weakness. Still not feeling much improved but I have lot to record so I better get to it.

At the beginning of this month of September I had a scare when I received a letter from FIA telling me my benefits were going to be cancelled because during my review I did not turn in my forms and paperwork on time. I was quite hysterically upset thinking I no longer had medical coverage and the fact that I had hand delivered my bundle of forms before the due date. So I immediately called my social worker and was about to go on a rant when she informed me the letter had been a mistake. Whooo! grrr

Thursday the 6th I had a check up with my primary physician, Dr. Nemeth we discussed my continued muscle weakness as well as recent pelvic pain, loss of libido and Again discussed the Lap Band. Dr. Nemeth ordered me up some blood tests and also asked that I have a PAP & vaginal ultrasound to check on the health of my Ovaries. Oh joy. oh oh Planned Parenthood does not have the Ultrasound equipment so I’ll have to find a diff office for that but I prefer to go to PPH for my PAP because the doctor’s assistant I see is very gently and is not demeaning to fat people.

Friday 7th I started having a gallbladder attack again. Fever pain in my right side under my ribs making it hard to breathe cuz each inhale pushes on the pancreases causing shooting pains. Took some aspirin, flushed myself with fluids but still took a week before it stopped hurting.

Thursday 13th Dr. Nemeth office called me and told me I needed to return to the lab for another tests my creatine kinase (CK) total was quite high and so they wanted to do a secondary more specific test.

Clinically, creatine kinase is assayed in blood tests as a marker of myocardial infarction (heart attack), rhabdomyolysis (severe muscle breakdown) and in acute renal failure.

Friday 14th I had a return visit to my endocrinologist, Dr. Chun to go over all the blood and urine labs he had done last month. The good news when they weighed me I’d lost 6lbs. cheese Nothing new or surprising I still have all the endocrine abnormalities of someone with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. He 1st offered to treat me by putting me on Birth control/hormone replacement. I had to remind him I was a High thrombosis risk and could not use it.After an embarrassed “oh, yeh, sorry, I forgot” he recommended I go on Spironolactone instead. I was not keen on having ANOTHER pill, but this type medicine has the potential to balance my menstrual cycle, get me off Altace, blood pressure medicine, improve my insulin sensitivity, so possible reduction of Metformin and it may reduce my hirsitism.
I think the Spiro is trying to work its making me have the worst PMS like pain EVER, though still no menstruation. Just cravings and BAD cramps in my back, belly, legs…

Monday 17th I had was at the Clark Eye Center I had a peripheral field and general visual eye exams. I have a slight loss of vision which is normal but doc said it was a very small change. So I didn’t even need to bother with buying new glasses. The peripheral exam came back “fine” Dr. Clark said, that’s good, no damage from PseudoTumor Cerebri to my optic nerves.

Rob has Vacation 20th - 27th, hes going to be here most of it. This weekend we are going to the Michigan Renaissance Festival, Moms coming with Rob and I and we will probably bump into on of Rob’s friends Tery and his freinds, and there friends ohh ...
