Shopping, Shopping, Stress and Shopping
Thursday December 14th, at 8am we headed out and I drove Melissa back to her home in Dearborn Heights so she could shower and change into work cloths, she had to be to work at 11am, Rob called off work the night before because we would have had to leave the house around 6am, both him and Melissa did not want to get up at 5am. He pretty much has maxed out his sick and vacation time and is going to lose some of it when New years comes because it doesn’t all roll over to the next year. SO it didn’t hurt him to take a day off. He technically has enough vacation and sick days that he could not go back to work until 2007. But all vacation time has to be approved and they even rejected his request to have this week prior to Christmas off. Of course Christmas week is OFF LIMITS because the Managers want that week for themselves.
Oh, bad news about Rob’s piece O ‘ $#@! Car. The mechanic fixed the, water pump, Engine temp gauge and radiator hose that plus the $50 tow was close to $400. THEN the mechanic decides to check over the rest of the car, where he finds all kinds of parts have been patched or jerry rigged in unsafe, hazardous, cheap methods. Mechanic was actually quite upset, going OFF on how lucky Rob was that the car didn’t explode or throw a tire while on the highway. I think he felt bad that he had done the previous work but of course still charged for it. He said the other repairs needed to fix the crappy “non repairs” Rob’s bro in law did would cost minimum of an additional $1200 and even then he said he was unsure it would be safe to drive and best thing to do was junk it. I’ve been telling Rob all year that his brother in law been ripping him off and taking his money and not really fixing the car. His Bro in law sold that car to him in the 1st place for WAY more than blue book. But he had to hear it from a certified Mechanic to finally wise up. (I hope!?)
My belly button kept bleeding Thursday and Friday. I keep cleaning it with peroxide. If I am careful not to get water in it when I shower it seems to stop it from becoming “unclotted” and bleed heavier, but there’s still a lil fresh red every time I clean it. I will try and call my primary see if I can get in this week to see her. Monday I see my neurologist so I will ask her opinion even though a bellybutton is not her field of medicine.
I’ve been feeling depressed its been coming and going all year but this last few weeks I’ve been very emotional, some what bipolar. It’s probably all the stress; lack of money, unpaid medical bills, broken/dead cars, new health probs popping up, old ones not improving, Rob and I talking about marriage. I love him and if I’m going to spend my life with someone it be him, but most every girl/women fantasizes about the wedding she wants and I don’t want a big wedding but I do want my reception to be grand so does Rob, grand in theme and design but not in number of people. Rob seems ignorant/ oblivious to the planning and cost.
Hell, he didn’t even know about engagement rings or wedding bands. We have been looking at rings; I want to pick my ring out with him because he is so clueless. I don’t trust him to do it on his own. LOL But it’s sorta a custom with this family anyway. My dad was stationed in Alaska when he proposed to my Mom he sent her the moneyand told her to pick her ring, my eldest sis and bro in law “SEB ” went to a jewelers he told my sis his price limit and said pick one out. I do think my other 2 sisters also picked out there own rings.
Friday night and Saturday I’ve been shopping with mom to help her finish up her Christmas shopping. Rob’s major gift was $50(Shhhh, I got him a pay as you go mobile phone.) I’m not worried about him finding out because he rarely reads my blog he gets the ‘low down’ first hand. We also stopped at the Salvation Army where I bought a winter coat for my nephew Aaron. Neither I nor my Mom wanted to buy a new coat that will only be used for the 2 weeks while my sister and nephew are in Michigan. I also picked up a couple ‘like new’ beanie babies for $0.99 each, an Armadillo, Kiwi and Puffin.
So last 3 days (Thurs-Sat) I’ve spent MORE money on Christmas and a little on myself that should have been used to pay bills. I’ll still be able to pay them but money will be REALLY tight for the rest of the year and “fingers crossed” all 3 should get there by their due dates.
